Idee Pure Soap Review

Again another Old Munki Guest Post – This time reviewing some lovely soap by Idee Pure a Manchester based company specialising in cleaning products for athletes. I have been using this soap for a few weeks now and I am very pleased with it.

I have been using this soap for a few weeks now and I am very pleased with it. All the bars come in a waterproof ziplock bag. This is very useful if you are carrying the bar around with you to shower at the gym. I have had a soapbox in the past and they can be a pain at the gym. Trying to find somewhere to balance them in the shower. Or having them open up in your bag is not fun.

2015-02-06 20.36.44The main bar I have been using is the Warrior Soap. This is a combination of lemon and lime oils. These oils have strong antibacterial properties, which if you’re doing any combat sport will important. Skin infections are not fun. It also has rosemary and ginger oils are known to aid in the healing of bruises and are great for muscle pain relief. Jojoba oil, a natural moisturiser, prevents the skin from drying without making it oily. Not having a soap that drys out your skin can be important if you’re an Old Munki like me. But realistically with all the beatings that our skin takes whilst training, anything that helps it heal or stay healthy is a bonus.

The bars themselves are priced at £3.99 each, which some people may consider expensive for a bar of soap. But as you can see from the ingredients a lot of thought has gone into this product, to specifically support combat athletes. Plus I use it to wash both my body and my hair which works great. So if you consider what you pay for shampoo and body wash together £3.99 a bar is not too bad. Plus you are naturally looking after your skin and hair.

The other good thing I like is that this soap doesn’t contain any sodium laural sulphates (SLS). These chemicals have been shown to be pretty bad for you. You can find more details on them here. So I try to steer clear of them where I can. So this product not having any is a big plus for me.

There really isn’t much else to say. It’s a great product that smells good, naturally protects and nourishes your skin. I would definitely recommend you check Idee Pure out here. They are a great supporter of the BJJ community, so it is well worth giving them a try.
