Last year I did a blog to help people get through their Easter Sunday. In the UK Easter Sunday is a bit like Xmas Day in that everything is generally shut but without the presents and great TV. My last post featured six non-technical BJJ focused documentaries and films that you may find enjoyable. So I thought it made perfect sense to update it with some more offerings for this year!
Jiu Jitsu Vs The World
In the last blog I recommended the documentary Roll. Obviously its makes sense to feature its follow up Jiu-Jitsu Vs the World in this blog. Plus I was thrilled to be support of this film through their crowdfunding campaign. If you haven’t gotten around to watching it yet then Easter is the perfect excuse!
Tim Ferris – Jiu Jitsu
An interesting short film by Tim Ferris (famous for his 4 hour work week and 4 hour body) whilst he looks for the most effective way to learn jiu jitsu. Filmed at Marcelo Garcia’s in New York it features jiu-jitsu black belt and chess master Josh Waitzkin (inspiration for “Searching for Bobby Fischer”).
BJJ a Gi for Life
This video is the third episode and is made by two BJJ Black Belts and this episode is filmed from United Arab Emirates a great place where study and play brazilan jiu jitsu, in the USA and Transylvania. A great watch if you enjoy combining BJJ with Travel!
BJJ Legend John Will Revealed on The Mick Tully Show
Mick Tully is well known in the UK as he’s trained martial arts extensively. This episode of his show features the fabulous John Will. One of the dirty dozen, a generally fantastic coach and some with a lot of stories to tell! This is definitely as case of sit back and enjoy!
Fight Quest – Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
This quite an old TV series but this doesn’t make it any less enjoyable. Originally showed on the discover channel this follows two individuals as they travel the globe learning and testing themselves in various martial arts. Obviously this episode focusing on BJJ is set in Brazil
NOOP – Episode 2 – Adam Adshead
NOOP is a video blog / podcast by one of my training partners at the gym. Apologies for the poor production quality but I have included on the list as this episode focus on my own coach Adam Adshead who is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Chris Haeuter. Adam is a competitor as well the head coach and owner of Factory BJJ.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this latest selection of videos. Feel free to share any BJJ documentaries you particularly enjoy!
