March Catch-Up Part 1

Whilst I love writing articles for my readers sometimes other people say things just a little bit better than me! Or at least are better placed to say them! So here’s my round-up of the blog, stories and articles you might have missed of the last couple of weeks or I just think you might find useful!

Cindy Hales: The Sleeper Awakens – Fightland Blog – An interest biog and interview piece with Cindy Hales one of the female BJJ “Dirty Dozen”

Suffra-jiu-jitsu – The Sunday Post – Article regarding a new exhibition that sheds light on little known facts about Scotland’s suffragettes

6 Tips for Visiting Jiu Jitsu Academies – No Joke BJJ – A great little article with some tips on visiting other academies during your travels

Turning thefts into gifts; submissions should be gifts, not thefts – Jiujitsuthoughts – An interesting article about the development of submission as your progress through BJJ.

Gear Reviews
Shoyoroll Batch 72 Rebel Grappler Black – A1L Gi Details – A photo blog review

BJJ Globetrotting
Grappling in Namibia – Part Time Grappler – A great blog by my friend Liam Wandi of his experience of training in Namibia (South West Africa).

Technical Takeaway
As this week was International Women’s Day so obviously this week’s technical takeaway showcases women’s BJJ. In this case, not one but two awesome black belts – Felicia Oh and Cindy Omatsu

  1. thanks for the shoutout BJJ Minion! Liked your blog “Welcoming Women to your gym”. Struck a nice chord, as we usually have 1/4 to 1/3 of our adult BJJ classes women. Keep em coming BJJ Minion!
