June Catch-Up

Whilst I love writing articles for my readers sometimes other people say things just a little bit better than me! Or at least are better placed to say them! So here’s my round-up of the blog, stories and articles you might have missed of the last couple of weeks or I just think you might find useful!

Articles

Age Of Success: Analysing The Starting Ages Of Jiu-Jitsu’s World Champs – BJJ Heroes – An interesting article analysis the starting ages of BJJ world champions and exploring trends in the data.

Sao Paulo Deploys Unarmed BJJ Police Squad For Protests. – Grappling Insider – There have been a few articles about the needs and use of BJJ within the police force but I thought I’d post this slightly older one.

Time Restricted S&C for BJJ – Princeton BJJ – Time and Energy are still at a premium for some people during lockdown (for my US readers the UK still hasnt got gym access) so some readers my find this workout programme interesting

Don’t leave your politics at the door: sport, morality and contemporary society – Kat Hill – A great article by on of the UK’s female black belts taking an more in-depth look at politics and ethics within BJJ

What I’m listening to / watching ….
I’ll be honest I am finding BJJ instructionals a little bit harder to watch at the moment but I have taken the plunge and bought FloGrappling. I’ve really enjoyed watching the recent Fight 2 Win cards and of course I’m looking forward to Grapplefest in a couple of weeks time. But I’ve also enjoyed some of the documentaries on there too. Not least Ronin
