This year is very much more about BJJ trips and adventures than competitions so I needed a gi to help me on my travels. I have a number of Gr1ps gi’s that I have reviewed on here so on comparing to size charts it made sense to test out their travel option!
Apologies for the delay in this review, I did but this gi in January but its taken a few months for it to be warm enough in the UK and to fit in a couple of training trips to fully test it out!

Black Friday is a gi addicts worst time of year. You promise yourself that you’re not buying any more gi’s and then you see a tempting discount – made worst by the fact that your husband is buying one too reducing the shipping costs! It was this deadly combination and my soft spot for a pretty gi that saw the Gr1ps Ara gi winging its way to me!

This year I was fortunate enough to be given a place on the Gr1ps Competition Team for the IBJJF European Championships. This meant I received a special patched up version of their Primero Evo gi to wear at the event. I already have a Gr1p’s Amazonia female gi which I have mentioned in my gi buyers guide. I have also bought and reviewed the Gr1p’s Arte Suave Gi last year so I was already a fan of the brand and very excited to receive a competition gi from them!
