April Catch-Up Part 1

Whilst I love writing articles for my readers sometimes other people say things just a little bit better than me! Or at least are better placed to say them! So here’s my round-up of the blog, stories and articles you might have missed of the last couple of weeks or I just think you might find useful!

Does Gender Matter on the Mat – Biggojiujitsu – Another blogs perspective on being a woman on the mat.

Warrior Jiujitsu: Brazilian Jiujitsu, Judo, and Japanese History – Grappler Insider – Pretty much what the title says – a look at the sports history and common roots.

Nicolas Cage to Star in Martial Arts Actioner ‘Jiu Jitsu’ – Variety – Just in case you haven’t already heard Jiu Jitsu the book is being made into a movie.

How to get past a Plateau in BJJ – Grapplerarts – Another Stephan Kesting article this time look at those inevitable plateaus every grappler will experience at some point.

The Real Reason For The White Tip on a BJJ Black Belt – BJJ Heroes – Exactly what the title says – look behind the reasons for the white tip on some BJJ black belts.

What I’m Listening to
The Raspberry Ape Podcast – Darragh O’Conaill – I’ve featured this podcast before and this episode features Darragh O’Conaill an Irish BJJ black belt competitor and coach who runs East Coast Jiu Jitsu Academy. He still competes at an elite level whilst coaching an= number of students who compete at the highest level.
